Kemono Friends Joins Forces with 4 More Zoos (with Goods in Tow)

posted on by Amanda Whalen

After a wildly successful crossover event with the Tobu City Zoo in Saitama, Kemono Friends is getting new collaborations with Sapporo Maruyama Zoo, Chiba Zoological Park, Kyoto Municipal Zoo, and Fukuoka Municipal Zoo. The project is called "Meeting Zoo Friends!" and will run from April 28 to May 31.

Each zoo will be selling original merchandise featuring new illustrations of the characters Kaban, Serval, Fennec, Otter, and Shoebill along with other character goods. Part of the proceeds will go be donated to the zoos.

The original merchandise includes can badges (350 yen/ US$3), leather charms (700 yen/ US$6), and large leather straps (1280 yen/ US$11.50), all featuring the name of the zoo they were purchased at.

All four zoos will also be selling the same acrylic keychains (840 yen/ US$7.50), pass cases (1380 yen/ US$12), and postcards (150 yen/ US$1). The postcards will be available beginning on April 30.

The Kemono Friends anime, which was part of a multimedia project that included the Nexon smartphone game of the same name, aired from January to March 2017 and was streamed by Crunchyroll. The series is getting a new video project, smartphone game, and stage play.
