Transforming Digimon Toy Line Gets Anniversary Upgrade

Tamashii Nation's 1999 release of Digimon character figures that Digivolve via Transformers-style moving parts are getting an upgrade. The "Digivolving Spirits" line is debuting in November with Agumon who Digivolves into WarGreymon.

The company wants to accomplish designs that couldn't be done with prior technology from the original release. These figures boast improved joints and balance and a more intricate paint job.

The Agumon Digivolving Spirits figure is available for pre-order for 7,020 yen (US$63). The next Digivolving Spirits character will be Metal Garurumon.

Bandai's official online shop Bandai Premium also revealed a special clear version of the figure on Monday. The Digivolving Spirits & Digivice Ver. 15th Complete Memory Set with the special WarGreymon figure, Digivice, and Evolution Stage is limited to 3,000 units.

The set's Evolution Stage lights up and plays the insert song "brave heart." Alongside the clear WarGreymon, the figure set features a similarly colored and upgraded Digivice 15th Ver. WarGreymon Color toy. The device includes the Dark Digivolution SkullGreymon and Black Digivolution Black WarGreymon. Warp Digivolution of Agumon to WarGreymon is again available.

The set is available for preorder for 19,440 yen (US$175) until July 31, and it will ship in November.

In addition, Premium Bandai unveiled the Digivice 15th Ver. Metal Garurumon Color toy. The device features Black Digivolution with WereGarurumon (Black). Warp Digivolution of Gabumon to MetalGarurumon is again available.

The toy is available for preorder for 9,990 yen (US$90) until July 31, and it will ship in November.

Bandai has reissued its original Digital Monster keychain toys, the Digimon Tamers anime Digivice and the D-Power items, and the Digimon Adventure 02 D-3 ver. 15th Digivice toys. Bandai also released its Digimon Adventure tri. Complete Selection Animation Digivice in 2015.
