Otaku mail order site Super Groupies isn't revolutionizing intimates, but its Utena-theme lingerie is still pretty to look at. The site is offering both Utena and Anthy color coordinated bra and panty sets. The Utena version takes inspiration from the character's school uniform and the Anthy version is similar in design with bonus frills.
Even more enticing is the pre-order bonus which includes an illustrations drawn by the anime's character designer Shinya Hasegawa. The art is printed on bromide for the Utena lingerie set and on a clear file for the Anthy lingerie set. Each costs 9504 yen (US$87). Pre-orders are open until July 2.
The fashion brand primaniacs is also getting on board for Revolutionary Girl Utena goods. The site is offering fragrance and fashion hair accessories. The Utena perfume smells of lemon, bergamont, musk, lily, white rose, rose, jasmine, amber, sandalwood, and peach. The Anthy perfume smells of mandarin, lemon, rose, jasmine, apricot, gardenia, musk, amber, sandalwood, and wood. Each bottle costs 5,417 yen (US$49).
The hair barrettes cost 2,650 yen each (US$24), the pouch costs 2,970 yen (US$24), and the hair tie and pocket mirror costs 2,650 yen (US$24) each.
Shogakukan's Flowers magazine announced that a new Revolutionary Girl Utena manga will run in the magazine's September issue on July 28. Original artist Chiho Saitō is drawing the new manga. Nozomi Entertainment is planning a Blu-ray Disc release of the 39-episode television anime adaptation from director Kunihiko Ikuhara .
