Aho-Girl Meets with Alligators in New Zoo Collab

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Aho Girl's Yoshiko might be the dumbest kid on the block but her love of bananas has landed her a genius collaboration. The summer anime series is joining up with the Atagawa Banana & Alligator Garden (officially translated as Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden) zoo, the Izukyū Corporation railroad, and the Atagawa Onsen Tourist Association.

Like Yoshiko, the zoo's mascot is an alligator with a love of bananas. The park itself is separated into three gardens and features 15 species of endangered animals and 140 types of animals all together and 9.000 plant species. Visitors can see the Western Red Panda, the Amazon Manatee, and the impressive skeleton of the extinct Toyotamaphimeia crocodile. The zoo collaboration will start on July 15.

Atagawa is known as primarily as a hot spring destination and the Izukyū line is one of the easiest ways to get there.

A shop dedicated to the series will open for a limited time at Tokyo Shinjuku Marui Annex starting on August 8 and will run until the end of the month. The shop will feature original goods.

Crunchyroll is streaming Aho Girl as it airs in Japan. Kodansha Comics will publish Hiroyuki's original manga under the title Ahogaru: Clueless Girl. Kodansha Comics describes the series:

Yoshiko, a truly clueless high school girl, is never far from over the top hijinks. Her childhood friend has no choice but to look out for her!
