Kobe Zoo Holds Kemono Friends Dōjin Event

Meanwhile, Nasu Animal Kingdom plans stamp rally

Kemono Friends dōjinshi already attracts huge crowds and tie-in events at zoos in Japan saw a giant uptick in attendance. It was only a matter of time until both were combined into some kind of Kemono Friends dōjin super zoo event!

The Kemono Friends exclusive dōjin event "Kōbe Chihō" will take place on August 27 at Oji Zoo Hall in the Kobe Oji Zoo. The event is limited to all-ages dōjin only, so nothing explicit will be for sale. Organizers are still accepting circle applications to participate. A total of 30 circles can take part in the event.

Meanwhile, the Nasu Animal Kingdom is planning its own Kemono Friends collaboration. The animal park will sell original goods and host a stamp rally starting on July 22.

Visitors can complete a stamp card by visiting six locations within the park to get an original postcard. The postcard features Pallas's cat, Red panda, Alpaca, Capybara, and the Gentoo penguin. The park will also put up eight character cut outs which include the previously mentioned five animals and three of the series' most popular character: Serval cat, Scarlet ibis, and Humboldt penguin. Nasu Animal Kingdom's original goods will feature the eight characters on can badges, fans, and clear files.

Within the park, special educational discussions about the Capybara, Red panda, and Gentoo penguin will be held daily. Capybara postcards will also be given out to visitors that purchase the "Capybarunch" (a pun on Capybara and the word lunch) at the Yamaneko Terrace restaurant.

The successful Kemono Friends and zoo collaborations are adding limited time night tours to give a visitors a new experience with nocturnal animals, too. The Misaki Park in Osaka and the Tobu Zoo are participating.
