Makoto Considers His Future for Free! Birthday Goods

Free! character Makoto Tachibana is all serious in the new illustration for his birthday goods. Pre-orders opened on Friday for a wall scroll, "Precious Box," rubber strap set, button pin set, clear file, and birthday sticker collection. The Precious Box includes a mini towel, coffee mug, and an illustration card.
A Makoto birthday event will be held at stores throughout Japan from July 28 to August 13 (the goods pre-order window) and November 3-26 (the goods delivery window). The exhibition events will display a large scale stand-up of Makoto from the illustration and display duplicates of the original draft. Some of the stores will also have exclusive stickers.
Makoto's actual birthday is November 17 and he's the fourth character to get new items as part of the "Precious Birthday" series. Pre-orders for Haruka, Nagisa, and Sosuke already closed. Momotaro will be next with items revealed at the end of August. So far the theme appears to be "sitting stoically in a overstuffed chair while wearing a suit." There is also some obvious character design adjusts to make the characters appear older when compared to the previous birthday goods.
Free! -Timeless Medley- includes two compilation films thatpremiered on April 22 and July 1, respectively. The first film focuses on Haruka and his bonds with his teammates while the second film focuses on Rin and Sousuke's relationship. The brand-new Free! -Take Your Marks- theatrical anime project is a sequel to Free! -Timeless Medley-, and it will screen in theaters in Japan this fall.
