Fans Can Watch Skating Duo Kihara & Suzaki Perform to Yuri!! on Ice at NHK Competition

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Earlier this summer, figure skating pair Ryuichi Kihara and Miu Suzaki were spotted performing to the track "Yuri!!! on Ice" from the anime of the same name at Skate Detroit. While Yūri Katsuki uses the song as the background music for his Free Skate choreography, Kihara and Suzaki were said to be using it for their Short Program in upcoming competitions.

The duo announced on their shared blog that they will compete for the 2017 NHK Trophy and excited fans can tune into the broadcast on November 10 to see the whole routine in motion, assuming there isn't a program change.

The competition is 18-year-old Suzaki's first Grand Prix competition. The NHK Trophy is the fourth of six total ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating competitions for the 2017-18 season. Winners will earn points toward competing in the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. The NHK Trophy competition will take place in Osaka from November 10-12.

Kihara and Suzaki will be facing Austrian pair Miriam Ziegler and Severin Kiefer, Canadian pair Julianne Séguin and Charlie Bilodeau, Chinese pair Sui Wenjing and Han Cong, fellow Japanese pair Sumire Suto and Francis Boudreau-Audet, Russian pairs Kristina Astakhova and Alexei Rogonov and Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov, and American pair Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim.
