Record Company Nippon Columbia Teams Up with San-X for New Project

The record label Nippon Columbia is teaming up character creation company San-X for a new music-themed character project. "Otogi no Uta ~Chronicle~" opened its official website on Wednesday.
The project is set in the world where fairy tales and music have combined into one. The characters are based on popular fairy tales like Momotarō, Issunbōshi (The One-Inch Boy), and Town Musicians of Bremen. The characters battle against one another utilizing different musical genres to reach their happy endings. Below is the Momotarō group, looking pensive with their instruments.
San-X is designing the characters and Nippon Columbia is producing the music. All the characters have cute mascot counterparts when they become "muted" in battle.
The project seems most likely to be in development as a game, but a release date and platform isn't known yet.
