posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
A new Kemono Friends short music video is wishing all its fans a very merry Christmas. The official Twitter account for the hit anime posted the short on Christmas Eve (Christmas Day in Japan) and it has already been viewed 236,000 times. There are a few Easter Eggs hidden in the video. Besides the the snow taking the form of the "no" symbol from the anime's logo, sharp-eyed viewers will notice that Hululu's silhouette is accompanied by a penguin, likely her true love Grape-kun.
Merry Christmas!

The holiday spirit didn't stop fans from airing their grievances in the video's comments. Many responded with asking "Santa" to bring back TATSUKI, the series' original director that was removed from the project along with the studio Yaoyorozu. Since his removal, fans have made desperate pleas to bring him back, even catching the attention of Kadokawa's CEO.
Despite TATSUKI's removal, Kemono Friends remains a hallmark in anime this year. It's wildly popular, topping polls for most appealing character, buzzwords, and anime kanji of the year.
