Yowamushi Pedal Bros Flex Their Way Through Glasses Commercial

Star competitive bicyclists and gym rats Tōichirō Izumida and Masakiyo Dōbashi can barely keep their shirts on in a new commercial for Megane Ichiba glasses. Both characters are shown pumping iron at the gym while yelling "Abu Abu!" and "Buha!" before putting on a pair of glasses frames with the same amount of exertion.
The characters only show two pairs, but the actual collaboration will include eight styles starting on January 27, each inspired by a different character.
Takuto Ashikaba model. It includes a heart mark on the inside of the right frame to mimic the character's own characteristic mole. The frame color is based on Ashikaba's hair while the piano black color references his love for classical music.
Yukinari Kuroda model. The inside detail has the message "I <3 Peak" and also has t-shirt pattern from the anime.
Tōichirō Izumida model. His pectoral muscles, who he calls Andy and Frank, are represented as icons on the frames.
Masakiyo Dōbashi model. The frames include an icon of the zipper from his jersey, which he often breaks in the anime.
Yuto Shinkai model. Includes a honeycomb icon to honor the character's nickname, "Peak Hornet."
Akira Midōsuji model. It shows heart pieces on the frames that are only connected when the frames are closed. The hint of yellow references is mohawk.
Komari Kishigami model. The inside color stripes reference his hairband.
Issa Kaburagi model. The colors mimic his hair, team jersey, and the "god of Orange Beena."
Each pair of frames comes in a original glasses case for 16,600 yen (US$147).
Yowamushi Pedal has previously promoted rice snacks, Subaru cars, and bicycle safety. The series currently has a Tokyo Tower event this month, just in time for this week's premiere of the fourth anime season, Yowamushi Pedal Glory Line.
