New 2DS XL Pikachu Edition Heads to N. America on January 26

Nintendo announced on Friday that the New 2DS XL Pikachu Edition system will ship in North America on January 26 for US$159.99. The model features a close-up of the iconic Pokémon mascot Pikachu's face on the front.
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International are no doubt preparing Pikachu fans for the upcoming Detective Pikachu Nintendo 3DS game, which will be playable on the special-edition system. The game stars a unique talking Pikachu who solves cases in the Pokémon world, and it launches in the West on March 23. A Detective Pikachu amiibo figurine that is larger than a regular amiibo launches alongside the game.
The equivalent New Nintendo 2DS LL Pikachu Edition variant shipped exclusively through Pokémon Center stores in Japan last November.
