Persona 5's Futaba Also Tries Potato Snack Acting Challenge in Video

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Persona 5's Futaba recently challenged fellow character Yusuke to try the "Jagarico Acting Ability Interview" for his birthday, January 28. Now, the tides have turned. In a new video, Yusuke gives Futaba the prompts, and Futaba tries to say "Jagarico" in various ways.

Jagarico is Calbee's popular potato stick snack that comes in a variety of flavors such as cheese, salad, or limited-edition varieties. The "Jagarico Acting Ability Interview" dates back to at least 2015 and involves saying "Jagarico" to the beat of music as a type of acting challenge. The person attempting the challenge replies to prompts about how to perform the word, and they must say the word within the proper number of beats without hesitation. Many people in Japan have posted their attempts on social media.

Atlus' new video begins with Yusuke challenging Futaba to participate. She is unenthusiastic at first, but Yusuke promises to give her regional limited-edition Jagarico. The challenge begins, and Yusuke instructs her to say "Jagarico" with various emotions, in a variety of imagined situations, and in several foreign-language accents. The video ends with Futaba saying "Jagarico" in a normal voice.

The video promotes the Persona 3 Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5 Dancing Star Night games that will launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on May 24.

Atlus' Persona 5 role-playing game shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan in 2016. The game shipped in North America last year after a delay. A-1 Pictures' is producing a television anime series adaptation that will premiere in April.
