Gakuen Babysitters' Kotarō Tops Poll of Characters Fans Want as Their Younger Brother

Late manga creator and writer Kunio Hatada designated four holidays throughout the year for younger and older siblings in Japan. Hatada's reasoning for choosing the dates is unclear, but March 6 is "Younger Brother Day," June 6 is "Older Brother Day," September 6 is "Younger Sister Day," and December 6 is "Older Sister Day." To mark this month's holiday, the Anime! Anime! website conducted a poll asking readers what little brother anime character they would want as their own sibling.
The website conducted the survey from March 2-4 and posted the results on Wednesday. Among the 305 respondents, about 20% were male, and about 80% were female. About 75% of participants were 19 years old or younger, and about 15% were in their 20s.
Most of the characters chosen in the poll are younger brothers in their stories. Adorable toddler Kotarō Kajima of Gakuen Babysitters topped the list, and Gintama, Haikyu!!, and Mr. Osomatsu all had two brothers in the top 10. Here are the rest of the top results in the poll:
