Freebies Celebrate Opening of Japan's Newest Pokémon Center

Pokémon Center Tokyo DX and Pokémon Cafe, which will be Pokémon's first permanent cafe, will open inside the Nihombashi Takashimaya department store in Tokyo on Wednesday. To celebrate the grand opening, the "Nihonbare Campaign" will give visitors a variety of free gifts while supplies last.

Players of Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, and Pokémon Ultra Moon can bring their games to Pokémon Center Tokyo DX to receive Snorlax with the move Sunny Day from March 14 to April 22. Pikachu holding Lemonade will also be available in-game to people who visit Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores throughout Japan during the same period.

Three clear files will be available at various Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores. First, the design with Snorlax and his pals enjoying the sun will be available at all locations throughout Japan from March 14-25. The design with Snorlax sleeping on a bridge will be available at Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores in Tokyo from March 26 to April 8. Finally, the design full of cherry blossoms will be available only at Pokémon Center Tokyo DX from April 9-22.

Two special shopping bags will be available beginning on Wednesday to people who purchase items at Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores.

People who buy five Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion packs at Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores will receive the exclusive "Cherry Blossom Afro Pikachu" promo card beginning on Wednesday. In addition, people who make any purchase at Pokémon Center Tokyo DX will receive a "Gentleman Pikachu" promo card. People who spend at least 5,000 yen (about US$47) at Pokémon Center Tokyo DX will receive a deluxe mini folding fan.

Merchandise that celebrates the new Pokémon Center's opening will be available for purchase at locations nationwide. Some celebration merchandise will only be available at Pokémon Center Tokyo DX.

Gentleman Pikachu will appear for greetings at stores throughout Japan on specific dates in March and April. Hakama Pikachu will appear exclusively at Pokémon Center Tokyo DX.

Before Pokémon Center Tokyo DX, the most recent new Pokémon Center to open in Japan was Pokémon Center Skytree Town in July 2016.
