Women Find Holy Matrimony in the Virtual World

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The world of virtual reality is opening up all kinds of experiences. Fans can watch their favorite voice actors practice their lines, go on dates with anime characters, and test their mettle while balancing on beam many stories up.

Players can also find love with a beautiful bride or handsome groom. The Sega VR Akihabara arcade is bringing "Wedding VR" to the facility for a limited time only. The experience originally debuted at last year's Tokyo Game Show Japan event and was so popular, players had to wait 90 minutes to try it out.

The game stars three characters from Voltage Inc's dating apps. Characters include Yamato (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa), Henry A. Spencer (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto), and Masamune Date (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa). The characters previously appeared in Voltage's Chikai no Kisu wa Totsuzen ni Love Ring, Ōji-sama no Propose Eternal Kiss, and Tenka Tōitsu Koi no Ran Love Ballad games.

If you can't make it to Akihabara before the game ends on May 8, the individual character VR weddings are also available in Japanese on Steam for US$7.99. Players need either an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift headset.

Wedding VR is the next experience from the developer that created "Chair Don," a similar heart-pounding game starring the protagonist of Voltage Inc's Kissed by the Baddest Bidder (Suite Room de Itazura na Kiss) mobile game.
