SHAFT Cancels Madoka Game's Planned Swimsuit Comiket Merchandise

The SHAFT animation studio issued an apology on Thursday, one day ahead of this summer's Comic Market 94 event, to announce that it will not sell Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica game characters swimsuit merchandise as originally planned. The company was notified that the swimsuit designs closely resembled real swimsuits sold by fashion brand PAMEO POSE.
SHAFT states that that PAMEO POSE's products were part of the image design but there was a miscommunication between the two companies. SHAFT apologized to customers looking forward to purchasing the merchandise and for any trouble the miscommunication might have caused involved parties.
The Comiket items included wall scrolls and acrylic stands featuring Madoka with Homura and Iroha Tamaki with Yachiyo Nanami.
