Shogakukan Promotes Sunday Webry Service With Comedian Dance Videos

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The PR team members for Shogakukan's Sunday Webry (Sunday Web Every) manga website have some pep in their steps. The team went to town on a song-and-dance video to promote the site. Not only did the project's main 30-second television commercial debut on Friday, but various related videos also began streaming at the same time.

There is a general 15-second version, plus three more 15-second versions that feature the Kyou Kara Ore Wa!! manga, feature the Karakuri Circus manga, and reveal that 2,000 free coins, which is double the normal amount, are currently available to people who download the app during the campaign period. Kyou Kara Ore Wa!! will be available to read in its entirety on October 14 in the app, and Karakuri Circus will be similarly available on October 21. Though they weren't lucky enough to get their own versions of the dance video, Ushio & Tora will also be able to read for free until October 20, and Cheeky Angel will be available from October 21-31.

The video stars comedian Misoo Nō, and a behind-the-scenes video for the commercial shows his work on the project. Toward the end of the video below, the comedian receives an illustrated and signed paper board from Urusei Yatsura manga creator Rumiko Takahashi.

Nō even created two how-to videos so that dedicated fans can use to learn the commercial's dance for themselves. The second video below shows Nō's own special variation on the dance.

In addition to the videos, the website and app's official Twitter account is running a promotion to offer various items signed by Nō to nine winners.
