Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team Game Adds Real-World Soccer Players

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Mobile game developer KLab Inc. launched the worldwide version of its Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team smartphone game back in December 2017. As the release is marking its one-year anniversary, the developer added virtual versions of real-world soccer players Roberto Carlos, Morientes, and Guti. The athletes debuted in the simulation game on Friday.

The World Football Legends: Los Galácticos event will run in the app until December 28. The limited-edition Transfer players SSR Roberto Carlos Devilish Left Leg, SSR Morientes Spain's Wild Eagle, and SSR Guti Genius Midfielder are appearing during the event. Players can do a 10 Transfer for free after the third step (three 10 Transfers) in the special Transfer. Additionally, each 10 Transfer offers bonus items such as Black Balls (SSR) and Legendary Drills to power up and evolve players.

The game is free to play with in-game purchases. Players are able to create a "dream team" of characters in the series and compete against players worldwide. There is also a story mode where players can "experience all the greatest scenes from the original Captain Tsubasa storyline and more."

The iOS and Android game launched in Japan on June 13, 2017, and has surpassed 15 million downloads worldwide.
