Another Racehorse That Inspired Uma Musume Pretty Derby Character Passes Away

The horse girls of Uma Musume Pretty Derby are said to possess the spirits of (and share names with) famed racehorses. Unfortunately, many of those racehorses are advanced in age or have suffered injuries leading to their deaths. Since the anime's premiere last year, Special Week, King Halo, and Vodka have passed. This week, another horse was laid to rest.
The three-time Japanese champion horse Hishi Amazon passed away peacefully on April 15 due to advanced age. The mare was 28 years old and living a retired life in the United States. Hishi Amazon previously won the the Hanshin Sansai Himba S. and the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup during her racing days.
Hishi Amazon was voiced by Yuiko Tatsumi in the Uma Musume Pretty Derby anime series..
