Director Makoto Shinkai Creates Opening for News Program

The late-night news program "NEWS23" will get a new opening courtesy of your name. director Makoto Shinkai. Shinkai edited landscape footage from his previous works to create the opening sequence. The compilation is based around the theme "A Worker's Day." The opening is set to the band Sakanaction's track "Wonderland" from their upcoming album 834.194.
Shinkai's your name. film opened in Japan in August 2016, and has become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, the second highest-grossing Japanese film, and the second highest-grossing anime film, with earnings of more than 25 billion yen (about US$225 million). Worldwide, it is the highest-grossing anime film, having earned more than an estimated US$355 million.
When he isn't directing box office-smashing films, Shinkai has created animated promotional ads for a variety of companies including Japan's Taisei Corporation, correspondence education service Z-Kai, and the Nomura Real Estate Group.
Shinkai is working on his newest film Weathering With You, set to open in Japan on July 19.
