Fan Draws One-Punch Man Season 1 Opening with Anpanman Instead

Step aside, One-Punch Man, there's a new bald-headed hero in town. Or rather, an old one. A YouTuber by the name of Teco Malu uploaded their rendition of the One-Punch Man season 1 opening animation, except with characters from the classic children's anime Anpanman. The video is definitive proof that Anpanman can be badass when he puts his mind to it.
The video was uploaded on June 7, and has since accumulated over a million views.
One-Punch Man's original Japanese title (ワンパンマン or "Wanpanman") is a wordplay on Anpanman (アンパンマン) with only the first syllable being different. Anpanman predates One-Punch Man by about 30 years. The Soreike! Anpanman television anime series began in 1988, and new Anpanman films have opened each summer since 1989. The iconic character was originally created by manga artist Takashi Yanase.
Madhouse and director Shingo Natsume's first 12-episode anime season based on ONE and Yūsuke Murata's One-Punch Man manga aired in Japan from October 2015. The second season directed by Chikara Sakurai at J.C. Staff debuted in April.
A crossover of sorts has already happened in an official capacity: Anpanman voice actress Keiko Toda narrated the first 30 minutes of the One-Punch Man season 2 TV special on April 2.
