Video Senshi Lezarion Anime From 1984 Gets Its First DVD Release in 2020

posted on by Kim Morrissy

The Video Senshi Lezarion (also known as Video Warrior Laserion) TV anime series from 1984 is getting its first ever DVD release. The 45 episode series will be available in two DVD volumes, which are both scheduled to go on sale on March 11, 2020. Volume 1 will cover episodes 1-22, while volume 2 will cover episodes 23-45. Each DVD volume will cost 22,000 yen (US$202).

Video Senshi Lezarion debuted in March 1984, and concluded in February 1985. It was produced by Toei Animation and directed by Kōzō Morishita. The story follows Takashi Katōri, who is a big fan of online games, and so is his American friend Sarah. However, one of their RPGs goes too far, as their virtual world and the Lezarion robot that Takashi created for the game somehow mix with reality. Takashi is caught, but later the Earth Government discovers that an evil scientist from the Moon (now a sort of abandoned colony with restricted access) is hacking into virtual worlds and security, so they force Takashi to pilot the Lezarion and, with Sarah's help, fight evil and protect the Earth.
