AD Vision has gone against their original announcement of disinterest in the Neon Genesis evangelion movies, and is now actively pursuiting the titles.
The movies, which include Death & Rebirth as well as End of evangelion, follow up the highly successful TV series, previously released by AD Vision. The series, which is rumored to have cost nearly 1 million US dollars to license, has quickly become one of the top-selling domestically released anime in the United States. Their initial disinterest in the movies was due to the large amount Gainax wanted for their license.
ADV's Brad Atwell commented, "I can't discuss our negotiations at this time, but we are trying to acquire the movies."
