Tekken Movie production confirmed

posted on

Namco's best-selling line of PlayStation fighters is about to hit the big screen. Namco's motion-captured rendered characters will reportedly take advantage of a new animation method that will make it possible to animate skin and muscles. The estimated budget is rumored to be over $60 million US and utillize the talents of as many as 200 animators. (This will make it one of the most expensive films in Japanese history.)

While Namco has no plans to bring it over to the United States as of yet, it is possible, should the film prove popular. No release date in either country has been announced.
