AnimEigo waffles on Urusei Yatsura DVD's
The dwindling Laserdisc market seems to be the reason behind AnimEigo's latest "viewer poll", which asks who would like to see Urusei Yatsura issed on DVD. The show, which has just been re-licensed by AnimEigo, is already planned to have a second LD boxed set released, but current market instabilities seem to be leaning toward the newer DVD format.
"If we do release on DVD, then there's a good chance we'd re-release UY LD 1-10 on DVD as well," said AnimEigo on their web site. "Those of you who purchased the UY LD 1-10 sets would have a chance to upgrade for a reduced fee. We are also considering releasing the UY movies on DVD with a similar offer."
