Anime Central announced yesterday their second annual convention, to take place on the weekend of April 23-25 in Rosemont, Illinois. The convention, which last year had celebrities like Kenichi Sonoda, returns this year, with scheduled guests including freelance anime consultant Scott Frazier, artist Robert DeJesus, super-fan Steve Pearl, and ADV Films dub voice actors Amanda Winn Lee and Jason Lee.
Current planned events include the Anime Central FanFest, a contest and show of creativity in anime fandom. This includes an art and modeling show, music videos, fan film and animation, and workshops on how to create your own. Other events include a game show, masquerade and costume show, live panelists (this year's topic: character design), four rooms of 24-hour video programming, and, of course, the exhibitor's hall.
