Vote for the best in Anime

Every year The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA, http://www.spja.com/) holds the SPJA Industry awards for most popular Anime and Manga. Fans of Japanese animation get to vote on their favorites in 18 categories.

EX:Magazine (www.ex.org) is hosting the pre-ballot votes to select 5 finalists in each category, to be eligible the product must have been released between 1 July 1999 and 1 July 2000.

The five finalists in each category will be presented at Anime Expo 2000 and attendees will be able to vote on their favorites at AX. All voting will take place at AX, no internet votes for those of us who will not be attending AX L. The winners will be announced, and awards presented at the closing ceremonies of AX.

Most popular male character (US commercial release),
Most popular female character (Japanese release),
Most popular female character (US commercial release),
Most popular non-human character (Japanese release),

Best anime album (US commercial release),
Best manga (Japanese),
Best manga (US commercial release),
Best film (Japanese release),
Best film (subbed or dubbed US commercial release),
Best OVA (Japanese release),
Best OVA (subbed or dubbed US commercial release),
Best TV series(Japanese release),
Best American animated film/series,
Best anime publication,
Outstanding American subbing/dubbing company.
