News The real Planet Namek?

It appears that a recently discoverd planet might have received an Anime derived name. The son of an astronoger suggested that a planet which his father recently discovered be named Namek after the home planet of Picollo, one of the main characters of the Dragon Ball series.
In the end the planet was named "HD 209548b" after following the naming system previously used by the astronoger.
There is no official convention for naming newly discovered planets, so maybe one day there will be a planet Namek.
