posted on 2000-10-26 17:15 EDT

Production I.G's superb movie Jin-Roh will finally be available in Japan in December. The VHS video and DVD, which are distributed by Bandai Visual, will be in movie stores on December 21st. While the VHS version is for rental only (a sale version will be released at a later date) the DVD version is for sale and is shock full of special features such as a box cover illustrated by Director Okiura; collection of Jin-Roh storyboard; a 20 page Jin-Roh booklet; preview trailers of Jin-Roh(not really a preview is it?) and Oshii Mamoru's new feature, Avalon; staff interviews and an art gallery. Best of all, something that North American fans can hope to look forward to on the North American release, is that it includes DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround.

No word about Anamorphic Widescreen or English subs, but we should have this information very soon.

Sale price for the DVD is 12 800 yen, and the VHS is going for 16 600 yen (direct to rental sales only).
