The Turkish government ordered the privately operated ATV network to shut down for a day to discipline it for airing an episode of Pokémon BBC reported Thursday. State broadcasting regulators took the action under a law that bars "broadcasting that could affect children's and teenagers' physical, emotional and ethical development negatively." The BBC said that the move follows two incidents in which Turkish children were injured when they jumped from their balconies to imitate a Pokémon character.
