Renowned Japanese manga creator Kia Asamiya will be an official guest of Europe's largest comics festival, the 28th Angouleme International Comics Festival in Angouleme, France. This year's festival,
lasting from January 25th to January 28th, is celebrating Japanese comics, more commonly known as 'manga', as its official theme. Mr. Asamiya is the
creator of numerous highly successful manga series, both in Japan and abroad, including Dark Angel,
Nadesico, Steam Detectives and Silent Möbius.

In Angouleme, Mr. Asamiya will be signing for his fans at the display of his French publisher and official sponsor of his visit to France, Marvel France-Génération Comics. Following the festival, Kia Asamiya will meet fans and sign books and comics
at two prestigious Paris shops, Forum FNAC and La Bede. A special limited edition lithograph featuring exclusive Kia Asamiya artwork will be made available for sale from Génération Comics at the festival, as well as at the two Paris-area store appearances. The mini-tour was arranged by Grand Design Communications, the licensing agency which represents the rights for several of Kia Asamiya's manga titles in Europe.

"I'm honored just to have been asked." says Mr. Asamiya. "The fact that the theme of this year's Angouleme festival is Japanese manga makes my visit all the more special. It also adds a little more pressure though.", he joked. "I am looking so forward to finally meeting all my European fans who have supported my work over the years. I'm sure it will be quite an enjoyable and memorable experience."
