Fanime Evangelion Panel

posted on 2001-03-31 20:52 EST

Voice Actresses Tiffany Grant (Asuka) and Amanda Winn-Lee (Rei) and Manga Entertainment rep Keith Burgess split time at their Fanime panel between talking about the upcoming Evangelion movie and their experiences as voice actresses (Keith didn't have that much to say about being a voice actress).

A Fan's View has posted coverage of their comments about Voice acting, as well as pictures of Amanda and Tiffany in her delectable Chocolate Misu outfit (Sorcerer Hunters).

As previously reported Manga Entertainment has decided not to go ahead with the theatrical release and will be concentrating on the home video release (VHS & DVD).

The biggest item that all three of them wanted to stress is that the two movies will be absolutely unedited.

Gaijin Production, the dub studio started by Amanda and her husband Jason Lee, will be doing the dubbing for the two movies. Worth re-mentioning is that they have gone to exceptional lengths to bring together most of the cast of the original ADV dubs of Evangelion. Sachiko Uchida, Kevin Bennet's wife, will be providing translations.

The two movies will be released together as a set sometime in the 4th quarter of 2001. When asked if they would be anamorphic Keith replied that he honestly did not know, however Tiffany jokingly added that they would most definitely be.

Look for End of Evangelion and Evangelion: Death and Rebirth from Manga later this year. And check out our upcoming second installment of the Spring and Summer Preview which will include a preview of the Evangelion movies.

Update

We apologize to Mrs. Uchida and Mrs. Bennett for the original mix-up.

Mrs. Sachiko Uchida, Kevin's wife, will be doing the translations, not Mrs. Nikki Bennet (Steve's wife) as previously reported.
