- Kia Asimiya - The Veil of Secrecy is Lifted!
Kia Asimiya, the artist behind such prolific mangas
as Silent Möbius, Dark Angel, and Steam Detectives
has earned a reputation not only for his awesome
skill and varied drawing style, but also for being
rather reclusive over the years he's been so well-
known on both sides of the Pacific. Well, when Jake,
our ever-vigilant and dedicated Animefringe reporter
on the scene had a chance to speak with him at
Anime Expo, he didn't hold back! This is an interview
no Asimiya fan would wanna miss!

Also returning from this year's Anime Expo estivities, Dai offers an entirely different perspective on the con's many doin's and happenin's. Like many years gone by, Dai got to experience the con's cosplay venues right from the inside out.

- Obon Week: Japan's Festival to Honor the Dead.
With all of July's con excitement in California, what's going on in August? Only the most celebrated of all Japan's many national holidays -- Obon Week! Read Adam's write-up to find out more about this very special week and learn a little bit more about traditional Japanese culture.

- ComicsOne: The Digital Revolution
For years, they've been talking about it -- the paperless office, the cyberspace age... the digital revolution. That's all fine and good, but what's manga doing to save trees? Well, a new company called ComicsOne has their sights set to deliver e-manga to the masses, and Adam had the opportunity to talk to them about just what they do and how they do it.

Reviews for this month include:
- Akira: The Special Edition DVD
- Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team Vol.1
- Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack
- Cybertronian: The Unofficial Transformers
ReCogNitioN Guide, Vols. 1-2
