Toei has announced details regarding their 2002 "Toei Animation Fair" an annual double bill that Toei present theatrically.

According to www.toei-anim.co.jp/movie/Anim-fair/english.html this summer's Toei Animation fair will feature Jigoku Sensei Nube and GeGeGe no Kitarō.

Jigoku Sensei Nube (Hell Teacher Nube), based on a popular comic series serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, has also been animated as a TV series which started broadcasting in 1996. The story follows Nube, a teacher with a very left hand, is a huge, nasty looking demon's claw. Nube uses his left hand and the powers it give him to the giant monsters that are constantly attacking, possesing or otherwise harassing his students.

On the other hand, GeGeGe no Kitarō (Big Sea Monster), features the monsters as the main characters. GeGeGe no Kitarō has been around for a long time, the original manga, by Mizuki Shigeru, was called "Hakaba no Kitaro" (Kitaro of the Graveyard), and has been animated 3 times. The first GeGeGe no Kitarō series was a black and white production of 1965 that ran for 65 episodes, it was re-animated in 1986 as a 107 episode TV series and again in 1996. Geg-ge-ge no Kitaro was also released theatrically as a short film (40 minutes) in 1985 and again as two short films in 1986.

GeGeGe no Kitarō features Kitaro, a seemingly young boy who is actually the last in a long line of Goblins. Ketaro is accompanied by his father (or rather the interesting remains of his father) and Neko Musume, a cute cat girl (who doesn't look so cute when she's irritated) and other interesting characters. In this movie, Keitaro turns into a giant sea monster and it is up to his companions to save him.
