Tokyopop Licences Stray Sheep

Company to showcase Stray Sheep at Licensing 2002 International, along with Initial D

Tokyopop announced today that they would be showcasing Initial D and Stray Sheep at the upcoming Licensing 2002 International, effectively announcing that they have licensed Stray Sheep.

Stray Sheep is based on the tales of Poe, a naïve, independent and curious ram who finds himself sleepwalking into the most unpredictable situations on his path to reuniting with his herd and finding the “ewe” of his dreams.

Designed & directed by Tatsutoshi Nomura, Stray Sheep is has become a tremendously successful childrens title in Japan. Nomura will be on hand at Tokyopop's booth at the Licencing show and they will have a live art demonstrations and give away original signed sketches.

Since its first appearance in 1994 as an opening spot for a late night show on Fuji TV, Stray Sheep has developed widely into animated TV programs, character toy products, and video games. The TV show was the first show animated by studio Robot, their website has 3 of the show's TV spots online at http://company.robot.co.jp/english/WORKS/CHARACTER/animation01.html.
