JAKKS Awarded Yu Yu Hakusho Toy License

Company already has license for other FUNimation property

Jakks Pacific and FUNimation announced today at the New York International Toy Fair that FUNimation has awarded the master toy license for Yū Yū Hakusho to JAKKS. This is the second master toy license for a FUNimation property to be awarded to JAKKS; in January they announced that JAKKS had been awarded the license for Dragon Ball Z toys.

Jakks Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq NM: JAKK) announced today from the New York International Toy Fair that the Company has signed a new Master Toy License with FUNimation Productions, LTD., for one of the Company's top animé properties, Yū Yū Hakusho®. Cartoon Network announced last week that beginning on March 3, Yū Yū Hakusho® will join the network's Toonami Block, airing Monday through Friday at 6 p.m. eastern/pacific time.

Jakks Pacific will manufacture action figures, accessories and playsets based on Yū Yū Hakusho®, the popular series from Japan that follows the adventures of fourteen-year-old Yusuke Urameshi. JAKKS received the master toy license for Yū Yū Hakusho® for North America from FUNimation, and expects to have product hit retail shelves by Q4 2003, in time for the Christmas season.
