A young man tries to battle back against giant humanoids who feast on humans in this graphic, visceral, and fantastically intense action/horror story. Its great strengths overcome writing and production value inconsistencies.

If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

Plentiful violent action, oodles of profanity, character background insights, occasional humor, and much more collect into one nasty package as the series' final two story arcs play out. Far from brainless, this is easily one of the elite action series of the past few years.
