DiC Kid's Network this September

posted on by Jonathan Mays
Three-hour block to premiere on major networks nationwide

DiC Entertainment has announced the September 1st launch of “The DiC Kid's Network,” a three-hour programming block tailored for FCC “core” programming requirements. Spanning over four hundred stations, including most major broadcast outlets, The DiC Kid's Network will have unprecedented reach, with availability in almost 100% of US homes.

Each block will contain six half-hour shows taken from DiC's library of over 3,200 half-hours, including shows like Sabrina, Sherlock Holmes, The Archie's, Stargate Infinity, and The Littles. The future presence of DiC-owned anime like Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, and Speed Racer is, however, unconfirmed.

Using three separate programming feeds (including SAP support), DiC plans to use the resources of Tribune Entertainment to create a hub for youth-targeted advertising. Among the major retailers already signed on are Hasbro, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Master Foods, Nestle, Chuck E. Cheese's and Bandai. By retaining strong marketing and promotional support, DiC hopes to establish the Kid's Network as a cornerstone for national children's programming.
