Tokyopop, Jada Toys to make Initial D die casts

posted on 2003-09-12 18:35 EDT
Fans of Initial D will soon get the chance to own a series of die cast cars based on the series.

A licensing agreement has been signed between TokyoPop Inc. and Jada Toys, Inc. to produce detailed die cast cars from the anime/manga series Initial D. The toy line will include the major car models seen in the series, as well as action figures based on the main characters. The die-casts are scheduled for an early 2004 release.

To generate interest amongst collectors and street racers, Jada Toys has made a full-sized model of the AE86 Sprinter Trueno driven by the main character Takumi (Tak). The company plans to display the car at major automotive events across the US.
