Yu-Gi-Oh! , Beyblade and Zoids based merchandise among most popular toys

Lycos Top 50 has published a list of the tops toys of 2003. The list is based on the most popular searches of 2003 that specify toys in some way, for example "Yu-Gi-Oh! Card" is a toy related search, while "Yu-Gi-Oh!" is not. Popular searches that may or may not have been related to toys and therefore did not make the list include Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer and the characters of Finding Nemo along with popular anime characters like the Dragon Ball Z characters (A person entering "Goku" in order to search for Goku toys would not have contributed to the list).

The list of the top 12 Toy searches is as follows:

1) Playstation 2
2) Xbox
3) Barbie
4) Bratz
5) Yu-Gi-Oh! cards
6) Transformers
7) Nintendo Gamecube
8) Care Bears
9) Legos
10) Beyblade
11) Zoids
12) Gameboy Advance

Meanwhile, Yu-Gi-Oh! also made it into the 10 most searched for video games with Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards in the number 7 spot. The top video game searches of 2003, based on similar criteria as the toy search list, will be published on the Lycos Top 50 tomorrow.

Dragon Ball and Yu-Gi-Oh! consistently rate in Lycos! Top 50 searches, this week they are ranked 12th and 22nd respectively. No game, animation or children's programing is ranked higher than Dragon Ball, Final Fantasy is ranked 17th, Harry Potter 33rd.
