A young man tries to battle back against giant humanoids who feast on humans in this graphic, visceral, and fantastically intense action/horror story. Its great strengths overcome writing and production value inconsistencies.

If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

Yes, antisocial, potentially creepy male otaku are the intended audience in Japan, but Sasami: Magical Girls Club is so faithful to the magical girl genre that you should feel entirely safe allowing your six year old girl to watch it. And I lay odds she will be thrilled.
