Annual Series of Lectures on Anime to be Held at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in September

The fourth annual Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits weekend of lectures and workshops will be held at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design on Friday, September 24, Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26.

The event, which is good for one undergraduate credit, focuses on the academic side of anime.

Speakers at the event will include:

C.B. Cebulski, Associate Editor at Marvel Comics;
Dr. Christopher Bolton, Professor of Asian Studies at Williams College;
Dr. Marc Hairston, Center for Space Sciences, University of Texas at Dallas;
Theresa M. Winge, Instructor in Design, Housing and Apparel at Univ. of Minnesota;
Patrick Drazen, Writer and Critic, Author of Anime Explosion;
Dr. Susan Napier, Professor of Japanese Studies, University of Texas;
Brent Allison, doctoral student / adjunct professor, University of Georgia;
Tim Lehmann, Independent Journalist;
Peter Paik, Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee;
Mikhail Koulikov, Webmaster of The Anime Manga Web Essays Archive, ANN staff member.

Registration for the three day conference is $105 or $694 to receive one undergraduate credit.
