1-Shot Magazine Aimed at 12 to 20-Year-Olds

We spoke to Beckett representative Doug Kale about their currently being released magazine, Beckett Spotlight: Anime For Girls. The magazine is a 1-shot release aimed at an older demographic than is typically associated with Beckett's anime publications. Kale explains that most Beckett anime magazines are edging up their target audience, even Anime Collector is now geared towards 12-16 year-olds "That's what we're seeing," he states, "Its not the kids anymore, its the teens," even people 20-30 are picking up the magazines.

Beckett Spotlight: Anime For Girls, which was released to the direct market last week and will be on newsstands this week is geared towards a female 12 to 20-year-old audience. Roughly 120,000 copies of the issue will be circulated. "If it's successful, we'll take it further," explains Kale.

A month ago, Becket released a similar Inu Yasha 1-shot, Kale says the issue has been selling well, and they are seeing a similar, older demographic of fans picking up the magazine.
