Profits up 54%, Stocks to Split

GDH, the parent company of popular anime studio Gonzo, recently forecast profits for its upcoming March year-end to be in the range of 449 million yen (US$4 million) on revenue of 6.8 billion yen (US$65 million), an increase of 57% and 54% over the previous year. GDH's animation business contributes 54% of its business volume, and rights management related to anime accounts for 43%.

GDH's most lucrative productions are "Samurai 7", "Gantz", "Bakuretsu Tenshi", "Sunabozu" and "Transformer: Galaxy Force".

American sales accounted for 8.2% of its business, down from 14% the previous year. 1.7% of its revenue came from Europe, and .7% from Oceania and Asia (except Japan), also down from 3.7% and 3.8% respectively.

In order to support its rapidly climbing stock prices, GDH will split its stock (1:2) effective March 31st.
