News Anime Takes Honors at Fantasia

Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival has announced the festival's award winning movies. Mindgame picked up more awards than any other movie.
Mindgame was awarded the following Jury awards: Best Film, Best Director (tie with Survive Style 5 +), best script, and Special Award – Visual Accomplishment.
In the People's choice categories, voted on by Fantasia attendees, the following awards were picked up by Mindgame and other anime:
Best Animation Film : Mindgame (Gold), The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Silver)
Most Groundbreaking Film: Survive Style 5 + (Gold), Mindgame (Silver)
Best Short Film: Kakurenbo (Gold).
Gen Sekiguchi's live-action movie Survive Style 5 + was closest to matching Mind Game's 6 awards, with 3 awards, includeing Best Asian Film.
