According to Nielson Vidscan, Katsuhiro Otomo's Steamboy was the 23rd top selling DVD in the week of it's release (week ending July 30). The only anime release of 2005 that has sold more copies in its first week was Miyazaki's Nausicaä, which was the 14th best selling DVD when it was released in March.
