Ghost in the Shell's Shirow collaborates with Lain's director, head writer

The Japanese animation company Production I.G updated its English-language website with the first part of an interview with singer/songerwriter/actress Maaya Sakamoto and the animator duo Gekidan Inu Curry on their "Universe" music video collaboration. Sakamoto (Escaflowne's Hitomi) created the "Universe" song for her March 21 30 minutes night flight album, and the music video was included on a bonus DVD for the album's limited edition.

Production I.G has also created a web section for "Asience: Hairy Tale," the 60-second animated short by director Kazuto Nakazawa (Kill Bill: Vol. 1's animated sequence) and composer Yoshihiro Ike (Blood: The Last Vampire). The section includes the first part of an interview with production manager Akihiko Suzuki and links to an online streaming of the entire video. Production I.G screened the "Universe" and "Asience" videos in their entirety at Anime Expo 2007, and it has also posted a Japanese report on the event.

Production I.G created a separate website for Ghost Hound, its much anticipated 20th aninversary "spiritual animation" series from creator Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed). Ryutaro Nakamura directs the scripts by his Serial Experiments Lain and Kino's Journey -The Beautiful World- The Land of Sickness -For You- writer Chiaki J. Konaka. Hell Girl's Mariko Oka is designing the characters and supervising the animation. The website includes a promotional video in high and low bandwidth streams for the Fall television series.
