Movie to open in Japanese theaters next year

The live action film project based on Naoki Urasawa's manga 20th Century Boys announced open auditions earlier this week for the role of Kanna. An official post to the film's website said that the staff is looking for a young woman to play Kanna, a supernatural power user who is also the niece of the film's protagonist, Kenji. The film is scheduled for release in theaters across Japan next year.

People interested in applying for the role must apply to an address on the film website with a paper application by October 31. Applicants that pass the first application will be invited to submit a video before the final group of applicants are invited to the studio for an interview.
