Sci-Fi Channel to Air Karas, Black Jack, more
posted on 2007-10-30 13:12 EDTThe Sci Fi Channel in the United States will preempt its regular AniMonday showings of Virus Buster Serge and Noein to run Karas the Revelation, the last three episodes of Keiichi Sato's six-episode action horror series on November 5. Street Fighter Alpha: Generations will then run on November 19. Black Jack The Movie will run on November 26, followed by a week off for Sci Fi's Tin Man mini-series. Perfect Blue will run on December 10, and Blood: The Last Vampire will run on December 17. Holiday marathons will preempt AniMonday showings on the remaining Mondays of the year. Thanks, Walter Yost.

Evangelion 2.0 feels as though the project has been put on mood stabilizers: it's not any happier, but it's more stable and certainly more focused. And in the end, it's a vast improvement. It hurts so good.
Despite a flimsy premise and lackluster male lead, this story about a girl doomed to perpetually finish second to a chief rival who has secretly fallen in love with her (mostly) succeeds for two simple reasons: it is often quite funny and occasionally endearingly sweet.

An amnesiac girl enrolls in an all-girl boarding school where she meets and forms a tumultuous relationship with a secretly alien beauty in this sci fi-themed yuri series. Despite its gimmicky foundation, this nearly-overlooked gem is elegant in execution as it focuses more on developing its characters and relationships.

Despite revolving around a young girl, the people most likely to enjoy Yotsuba&! are adults, those who need a little reminder, one that the manga itself puts best when it ends with the simple words "enjoy everything."
