News Canada's YTV, Teletoon, Space Channels Adds Anime

New Year's Eve marathon, Appleseed among upcoming showings
The Canadian channel YTV is bringing back Anime-nia, its New Year's Eve marathon of anime programming, for the last day of 2007. The marathon will last from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, and will repeat the Fullmetal Alchemist movie during the marathon. Canada's Teletoon channel will show four different feature-length anime titles: Akira on January 4 and 5, Appleseed on January 11 and 12, Armitage III: Poly-Matrix on January 18, and Armitage Dual Matrix in the following week. Space channel will be showing the Robotech adaptation of three different anime series every weekday starting on January 7.

Cage of Eden has all of the elements of a classic survival epic – monsters, diseases, an unfriendly wilderness with no perceived escape, and our own ability as humans to lie. While it can be laid on a bit thick at times, and the fanservice or treatment of the adult female characters may be objectionable to some, Yamada's story is an engrossing one.
